Custom sports mouthguards in Ocala

A guard made from a scan of your child's teeth fits well and stays in place, so your child can breathe and talk on the field.

Why a custom guard

A youth soccer game on a green field in the late afternoon

A mouthguard helps protect teeth, lips and cheeks from a ball, an elbow or a fall. A guard that fits stays in, so your child keeps wearing it.

The fitting

Dr. Pelletreau scans your child's teeth with a small camera wand, with no putty. The guard is usually ready in about a week.

Care for the guard

Rinse it after each game and let it dry in its vented case. Bring it to checkups so we can check the fit as your child grows.

Questions about sports mouthguards

Does my child need a new guard each season?

Often yes, while teeth are still coming in. We check the fit at each checkup.

What if my child wears braces?

Children with braces need a guard too. Ask us or your orthodontist which type fits over the brackets.
